The move to Orlando
We pulled the trigger and moved our family to paradise! Now, we came from Colorado, which is its own version of paradise with a much colder temperature range with its beautiful mountains, ski resorts, and fall weather. But Florida had been calling our names for a few years, and this year, it felt like time to move to one of our favorite destinations - Orlando Florida.
I have been a headshot photographer for over 15 years in Denver. Moving my studio to Orlando and starting over has been a bit scary - Orlando is a big place compared to where we came from (a little farm town called Erie). Starting over in a new place will have its inherent challenges since we know literally nobody here, but I’m excited to pick up where I left off in Colorado - meeting people through portraits.
With the move, I’m simplifying my headshot message - it feels great to refresh my brand, motivations, and shake things up a bit with my photography. I hope to provide professionals with photos that are warm, friendly, professional, and completely relevant for today’s modern consumer.
We moved into a place with high ceilings, lots of window light (dream come true!), and absolutely stunning landscaping (something you don’t see much of in dry Colorado). Our front yard was the inspiration for my new business name - Palm Lake Headshots. We have a little lake behing our house, and palm trees that are exactly the right height to provide a lovely, tropical headshot backdrop I never could have dreamed of before. Here are some photos of my new outdoor backdrop - so exciting! I never could have dreamed of taking pictures with such vibrant colors and textures before.
Pops of red and rich pink meld beautifully with the lilac flower bushes and bold green foliage. When mixed with the rich colors of the building surrounding the landscape, I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect background for headshot photography in Orlando.
We also have a fountain, lake, and beautiful architecture I can’t wait to try out for my professional headshot clients.
